KwaDukuza Municipality Marketing Video
Kwadukuza, South Africa. Home to the great Zulu King, King Shaka. KwaDukuza has become one of the most diverse regions boasting an extraordinary array of scenery, including a magnificent coastline, nature reserves and world class accommodation. KwaDukuza Municipality is a 20 minute drive from King Shaka Airport, and is located between two of Africa’s Biggest Ports – Durban and Richards Bay. Globally, carbon emissions are on the rise, making expanding cities vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. KwaDukuza recognises that local action is the key to cutting emissions and adapting to these changes. The municipality has been working with international NGO, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, to build an effective strategy and put a plan into action to become a model example of low emission development. The purpose of the video is to show how the KwaDukuza Municipality is getting involved with the locals and business to make KwaDukuza a low emission development region. The municipality is already taking action while engaging local schools and community groups on how to collectively meet the 2030 vision. Barcode Media was welcomed by many of the KwaDukuza Residents, business owners and farmers who help us obtain the footage we needed. Local communities are becoming conscious and developing eco-friendly housing estates, as a refuge from the big-city hustle and bustle. They focus on preserving the indigenous fauna and flora, while offering modern amenities. Both Brettenwood Estate and Simbithi Eco Village helped us show off the bio diversity within Ballito. Local businesses are also getting involved through the “greening” of their commercial buildings, a vital step towards becoming a sustainable city of the future. SMD Ford, Ballito have really out done themselves and have embraced going green with solar panels on there roof and rain water harvesting with water reservoirs systems which is then used for the wash bays. This was an exciting and challenging marketing video to produce as our client needed to get a lot of information into one video and still keep his audience engaged.
